For Bajeslovje, the offline guide to Slovenian folklore

Application ID: com.pravljica.bajeslovje
Published by: AM Special d.o.o., Radenci, Slovenia
Languages: English and Slovenian  ·  In effect from: 17 September 2026

Bajeslovje collects no personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and nothing to buy; the app requests no Android permissions and never opens a network connection. What you read, search for and bookmark stays on your handset.

Who is responsible

Bajeslovje is made and published by AM Special d.o.o., a company registered in Slovenia, which releases its apps under the name FrostCedar Studio. Under the General Data Protection Regulation and Slovenia's Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-2), that company would be the controller for any personal data the app processed. It processes none, so the role has nothing attached to it.

Nothing about your reading is kept

No entry view is counted, no reading time is measured, and nothing typed into the search box is stored or transmitted. There is no history screen because there is no history, and no recommendation engine because there is nothing for one to learn from. The app knows only what you deliberately saved.

What is kept on the handset

A single small file in the app's private storage, holding what you chose to keep:

Nothing in it identifies you: no name, email address, contacts, photos, location, advertising identifier or device identifier. The file never leaves the phone and we never see it.

Both editions ship inside the download

Every entry in Slovenian and in English, the glossary, the images and the clue sets for the guessing game are compiled into the app. Nothing is fetched while you read, no entry loads on demand, and no daily creature arrives from anywhere — which is why the app behaves the same in a valley with no signal as it does on wi-fi.

The app does not ask where you are

A guide to local legends has an obvious temptation to ask which valley you are standing in and serve the tales that belong to it. Bajeslovje does not: it requests no location permission, does not derive a position from the network, and has no idea where it is being read. You choose a realm because it interests you, not because the handset volunteered one.

Folklore, presented as folklore

The entries describe what was told, believed and done in Slovenian tradition, drawn from published collections of folk material. The app is a cultural guide, not a claim that any of it is real and not advice of any kind — where old protective customs and warnings are recorded, they are recorded as history rather than recommended as practice.

Regional tellings differ, sometimes sharply, and we would rather get them right than get them uniform. If an entry contradicts the version told in your valley, please write: corrections to this material are welcome and do get made.

Deliberately not in the build

No advertising library, so nothing interrupts an entry and no advertising profile is built from what you read. No analytics library and no crash reporter, so no usage events, session logs or crash traces leave the handset. No billing library, so no being, realm or glossary section sits behind a price, and no payment data exists. No account, no sync, no comments, no sharing of your bookmarks with anyone.

Bajeslovje requests no Android runtime permissions: not camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage or notifications.

Network use

None. The app opens no connection to our servers or to anyone else's, so nothing leaves the handset to be intercepted and nothing arrives that could change its behaviour after installation.

Google Play

Installing or updating Bajeslovje is a transaction between you and Google, handled under Google's own privacy policy and its agreement with you. What reaches us is the aggregated, anonymous developer console view — installs, ratings, country totals — which identifies nobody.

If a future version ever touches the network, this page is rewritten before that version is published and the change stated plainly.

Younger readers

Some of these tales are eerie by nature — that is what they were for — but they are written as folklore for a general audience, without gore or imagery unsuitable for the app's age rating. Since nothing is collected from anyone, nothing is collected from children, and there are no adverts, no chat, no sharing, no links out and nothing to buy.

Your rights, and clearing your list

The General Data Protection Regulation and ZVOP-2 give you the right to ask whether your personal data is processed, obtain a copy, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to processing, and complain to a supervisory authority. Every one of those needs data in our hands, and there is none — we will confirm that in writing if it is useful for your records.

Your bookmarks and game results are removed by clearing them in the app, clearing the app's data in Android settings, or uninstalling Bajeslovje. No copy survives anywhere else, because none was ever made.

Complaints may be addressed to the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (Informacijski pooblaščenec, ip-rs.si) or to the supervisory authority where you live, though a note to us usually settles things sooner.

Changes, and how to reach us

This page is updated only when the app changes in a way that affects privacy, and the date near the top changes with it. Builds already installed keep behaving exactly as described.

An entry that reads oddly, a tale from your valley we have told wrongly, a privacy question: tale@amspecial.lol, read by the person who wrote the app, usually answered within a couple of days. Pišete lahko tudi v slovenščini.

This policy covers the Android application Bajeslovje (com.pravljica.bajeslovje) and no other software.
